Bio
Tom Glick works on matters relating to people who are elderly or who have special needs, as well as their families or survivors. He handles guardianships and conservatorships, special education plans, mental health matters, estate administration and planning, and real estate transactional needs. While assisting families through difficult situations, Tom’s knowledge of the law and his personable nature makes the legal process less stressful for all involved.
Special Education. As a skilled proponent for special education, Tom assists families in securing Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) services for their children. He guides them through all phases of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, refusal of service, inappropriate discipline, or other school-related actions. His experience helping parents of children with special needs includes establishing hundreds of guardianships.
Estate and Trust Administration and Litigation. Understanding that most people are overwhelmed when faced with issues and decisions in the process of estate and trust administration, Tom caringly guides clients through every stage. And when disputes arise or an estate needs to be protected in probate proceedings, he is a determined advocate acting to ensure all assets are distributed correctly.
An authority on estate-related issues, Tom speaks and writes on these topics regularly. Recognition for his knowledge in this area includes an invitation to serve on the Missouri Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging. He also received the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis President’s Outstanding Service Award (2005) and the Volunteer Lawyers Program of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri award (2002) for his pro-bono work.
Prior to joining Danna McKitrick, Tom led a private firm for many years. Earlier in his legal career, he was a staff attorney to the St. Louis County Probate Court.
