Keith Unger Joins Danna McKitrick Litigation Team


Danna McKitrick, P.C. has announced the addition of Keith P. Unger to the firm as an associate in the litigation department. He concentrates his practice on defending employers and insurers in workers’ compensation claims.

Unger graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia with a B.S. in accounting. He earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law where he was a member of the UMKC Law Review and The Urban Lawyer law journal. Unger is licensed to practice law in Missouri.

Michael Cherba Joins Danna McKitrick Litigation Team


Danna McKitrick, P.C. has announced the addition of Michael R. Cherba to the Danna McKitrick litigation team. He will primarily concentrate his practice on insurance-related, business, probate, and civil litigation matters.

Cherba received his Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University in 2007. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Missouri Attorney General’s office, where his practice included consumer protection, administrative/professional licensing, and a wide variety of other types of cases. While with the Attorney General, Cherba litigated more than 50 bench trials and defended 20 administrative decisions in judicial review actions before the circuit court. He also briefed and argued six cases in the Missouri Court of Appeals.  Cherba was also part of a team in the Attorney General’s office which successfully defended ballot language related to efforts to repeal Missouri’s Non-Partisan Court Plan. Danna McKitrick Adds Litigation and Transactional Associates


Danna McKitrick, P.C. has announced the addition of Katherine M. Flett and Brian C. Zaldivar to the firm as associates. Their additions expand both the transactional and litigation groups, especially in the areas of estate planning, business law, general civil and commercial litigation, and insurance defense.

Flett holds a J.D. cum laude from University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and graduated Order of the Coif (2015). She was an associate of The Journal of Dispute Resolution and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. from Lindenwood University (2012) where she was a three-year recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award for softball. Danna McKitrick Expands and Welcomes Four Attorneys


New practice areas added to law firm’s arsenal; other areas expanded

Danna McKitrick, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of four attorneys to the firm. Robert L. Devereux, William J. Bruin, Jr., and David D. Crane have joined the firm as principals and Richard J. Schwartze has joined as Of Counsel.

The new attorneys add more depth and breadth to Danna McKitrick’s litigation, corporate and business law practices while adding new areas of practice as well, such as mass tort and comprehensive project development.

Attorney David W. Morin Joins Danna McKitrick


New Litigation Associate for Worker’s Comp, Insurance Defense

St. Louis, MO – April 15, 2014 – David W. Morin has joined the ligation department of Danna McKitrick, P.C. Morin will primarily defend workers’ compensation cases on behalf of employers and insurance carriers.

“I joined Danna McKitrick to practice with the firm’s quality litigation attorneys,” said Morin. “I am excited to expand my skill set while bringing my past experience in litigation and workers’ compensation law to the firm.”

Morin’s experience includes taking and defending depositions of medical and vocational expert witnesses and litigating administrative cases. He has also worked with clients in matters related to Medicare/Medicaid and the Secondary Payer Act.

Misty A. Watson Elected Principal at Danna McKitrick, P.C.


St. Louis, Mo. – January 14, 2014 – The law firm of Danna McKitrick, P.C., is pleased to announce the election of Misty A. Watson to the position of principal, effective January 1, 2014.

Watson focuses her practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and guardianships / conservatorships for minors and adults.

Fort’s practice spans a variety of areas including residential and commercial real estate, landlord tenant law, business formation, and other transactional matters.

Prior to joining the firm Fort developed a successful St. Louis area law practice serving a variety of individual and corporate clients; and before that he was a Staff Attorney at Investors Title Company.

St. Louis, Mo. – February 12, 2013 – The law firm of Danna McKitrick, P.C., is pleased to announce the election of Kevin E. Myers to the position of principal, effective February 1, 2013. Myers advises and represents clients in matters involving insurance coverage and disputes over policy analysis. He also represents individuals, insurers and businesses in tort and contract matters throughout Missouri and Illinois, with a concentration in insurance coverage, extra-contractual and bad faith litigation.

Myers earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was the executive editor of the Saint Louis University Public Law Review. He graduated summa cum laude from Saint Louis University with a B.A. in Russian studies and political science.

James M. Heffner Elected Principal at Danna McKitrick, P.C.


Real Estate and Banking Attorney Promoted by Law Firm

St. Louis, Mo. – January 16, 2013 – The law firm of Danna McKitrick, P.C., is pleased to announce the election of James M. Heffner to the position of principal, effective January 1, 2013. A transactional lawyer, Heffner concentrates his practice in banking and finance, corporate, and real estate law.

In addition to his law practice, Heffner co-chairs the firm’s marketing committee and mentors younger attorneys in the firm.

Heffner serves on the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center Development Board and the Webster Groves Board of Adjustment. He is a graduate of Leadership Clayton and was the recipient of the Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Corporate Achievers Leadership Award.

Heffner obtained his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and his B.A., with honors, from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also earned a German Proficiency Certificate from the Universität Tübingen.

 

Jeff Schmitt Appointed Head of Danna McKitrick’s Title Litigation Practice


Saint Louis, MO – February 3, 2012 – Jeffrey R. Schmitt, a principal at Danna McKitrick, P.C., has recently been appointed head of the firm’s title litigation practice. Schmitt will lead the practice in its representation of its clients including national title insurance underwriters and their insured, resolving title policy claims and disputes that preclude title transfer or cloud true ownership. Schmitt is an experienced commercial and general civil litigator whose practice includes financial and lending, construction, and real estate law as well as general legal counsel for small to mid-sized businesses.

“Jeff is an excellent litigator, and has extensive experience in real estate, construction and financial litigation,” said Ron Danna, senior principal and co-founder of the firm. “He’s a proven leader, and we believe he’s the one to lead the title litigation practice into its next phase, one committed to quality client service and continued growth.”

Supporting Schmitt and Danna McKitrick’s title litigation practice is litigator David A. Zobel, as well as transactional lawyers Michael J. McKitrick and James M. Heffner. With McKitrick’s 30 years of experience in real estate litigation and transactions, McKitrick and other members of the transactional team focus on areas that are tangential and necessary to support title litigation, such as creditors’ rights.

Schmitt earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his B.A. (magna cum laude) from Saint Louis University. He is admitted in Missouri, Illinois, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit.

Schmitt is past president of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce and executive committee member. After clerking for the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Missouri, he joined Danna McKitrick as a promising young law clerk and worked his way up to principal. He was recognized in 2010 by The Missouri Bar Young Lawyer’s Section as a “Young Lawyer You Should Know.”
